Sir Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has expressed his gratitude for the verdict of the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal in Abuja, which dismissed the petitions filed by the Labour Party Candidate, Beatrice Itubo, and Accord Party’s Dumo Lulu-Briggs. He sees this as a reaffirmation of the trust that the people of the state have placed in him.
The governor conveyed his sentiments during a brief thanksgiving service held at the Chapel of Everlasting Grace, Government House, Port Harcourt. He emphasized his unwavering commitment to the people of the state and assured them that he would not let their expectations down.
Governor Fubara stressed the significance of God in his administration, asserting that the administration’s relationship with God would remain uncompromised. The thanksgiving service was organized to express gratitude for divine guidance and direction.
Fubara acknowledged that his emergence as governor was made possible by God and expressed gratitude for the reaffirmation of his victory at the tribunal.
He also extended his appreciation to the former governor of Rivers State and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Chief Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, for his substantial support throughout his governorship campaign and during the legal proceedings.
Governor Fubara appealed to the people of Rivers State for their patience, assuring them that his administration would deliver good governance aimed at improving their lives.
The Chaplain of the Chapel of Everlasting Grace, Government House, Port Harcourt, Rev. Barasin Ogan, emphasized the importance of giving thanks to God. He declared that God’s hand is upon Governor Fubara and that he would be strengthened to administer justice without bias and show mercy continually.
