Governor Radda Commissions Borehole Projects in Matazu

As part of efforts to improve the well-being of the populace in Katsina State, Governor, Mallam Dikko Umaru Radda, has commissioned additional borehole projects in Matazu local government area.

The grassroots development project is an international collaborative effort supported by Amir Sultan, a Turkey-based philanthropic organization, and Sudan’s Munazamat Ad-daawal Islamiyya and the organizations’ objectives include the construction of scores of boreholes across Katsina State.

During the commissioning of the boreholes numbering 35, Governor Dikko Radda emphasized gratitude for the increasing interest of Humanitarian organizations in Katsina State.

Attributing the projects to his wife’s initiative, Governor Radda directed the local government chairman to ensure proper borehole maintenance for the benefit of surrounding communities.

Also, one thousand copies of the Holy Quran, generously provided by the supporting organizations were distributed to eager citizens.

According to Governor Dikko Radda, the Quran distribution effort and plans towards the establishment of an Islamic and Quranic memorization center are aimed towards ensuring more positive impact in the region’s educational landscape.

Governor Radda concluded by presenting cash donations from his wife to local Islamic sects, fostering community support.

Mufti Mustapha and Mufti Ahmad, representing Amir Sultan of Turkey, appreciated the state government’s cooperation in executing the projects, affirming that over thirty boreholes would be drilled in the state, bringing immense benefits to the people.

Mufty Mustapha shared the organization’s successful track record in Senegal and Chad, showcasing their commitment to water projects, feeding programs, and Quran distribution over the past fifteen years.

Chairman of Matazu local government, Dr. Shamsu Mohamed Sayaya, emphasized the invaluable importance of water in his welcome address. He expressed gratitude for Governor Radda’s physical presence at the commissioning ceremony.

Isma’ila Matazu, representing the Sudan-based organization, highlighted the collaborative efforts between Turkish and Sudanese philanthropic organizations. Beyond boreholes and Quran distribution, the joint organization plans to construct a center for Islamic and Quranic memorization.

This collaboration marks a significant step in providing essential services to the people of Katsina State and fostering cooperation between international philanthropic organizations.
