Recalling the recent rain and Wi dstorm disasters in Hawul where hundreds of houses were pulled down, the Chairman said it was an avoidable disaster with adequate trees.
While saying that he has identified Orders for the arrest of all those involved in cutting fown for purposes of making charcoal, Bwala said he has released ten thousand assorted economic and non economic trees fir planting across the Local Government.
The Chairman promised to procure mire seedlings before the rains stop and ensure that every adult in Hawul plants a tree and natures the tree to maturity.
Bwala explained that he has been disturbed with the trend, where people deplete the natural environment for lonely making ventures.
He further explained that, the tree planting campaign he recently launched in Hawul was intended to boost the natural environment and to campaign against indiscriminate felling of tree and burning of charcoal.
He vowed to deal with anybody found to be enggag8ng in the unwholesome activity of burning charcoal for sale to the public.
While seeking for the collaboration of security agencies, the Hawul Counvil Boss disclosed that he has formed a committee that will enforce the appropriate laws, which forbid felling of trees and burning of charcoal.
“Anybody who plans to develop an area where there are trees needs to obtain a permit and must also be prepared to plant two or three trees as replacement,” the Chairman added.
Bwala called for community sensitisation on the dangers of tree felling and the importance of tree planting.

Pius Akutah’s Alleged Fraud at Nigerian Shippers Council Uncovered
Investigations by Nigerian Concord Newspaper reveal that the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Shippers Council, Mr. Pius Akutah, has allegedly misappropriated public funds for a lavish lifestyle.
According to our findings, within months of assuming office, Akutah allegedly purchased a bulletproof SUV valued at approximately N850 million. In addition, he is reported to have acquired over twenty exotic SUVs for use as a convoy.
Akutah is also said to have acquired multiple high-value properties, including three in Abuja’s Maitama and Asokoro districts worth over N2 billion, and two in Lagos’ Banana Island valued at N1.8 billion. These acquisitions appear far beyond the scope of his official salary and allowances.
Further investigation suggests that Akutah may be using public funds to support political ambitions, including allegedly grooming militants across 23 local government areas in Benue State for a potential 2027 gubernatorial bid.
Staff of the Shippers Council reportedly claim that Akutah frequently accesses the council’s treasury without proper authorization. Some insiders have indicated that a petition will soon be filed with the EFCC, ICPC, and the Presidency to report his alleged misconduct.
