Prominent socialite, Samsom Erinfolami Balogun, better known as Sam Larry, has refuted claims linking him to the demise of musician Ilerioluwa Aloba, widely recognized as Mohbad.
The denial follows the circulation of an older video depicting Mohbad being confronted by a group purportedly led by Sam Larry. Additionally, an online petition from the late musician highlighted his concerns about threats to his life, implicating Sam Larry among others.
In a recently shared video, Larry, who had been silent since Mohbad’s passing, expressed his affection for the late singer, considering him akin to family.
Conveying his sentiments in Yoruba, Larry asserted, “I want to clarify that I played no part in Mohbad’s passing. He was akin to family, and during his time with Marlian records, he was aware of my affection for him. A disagreement doesn’t equate to wishing him harm. I couldn’t harm Mohbad. The videos that are trending are from past incidents.”
He added, “Zlatan can attest to this. Anyone can reach out to Zlatan for confirmation.”
ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Force Public Relations Officer, stated on Thursday that a thorough investigation would be conducted to determine the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s death.
