Ilorin Emirate Durbar: Emir Lauds Committee’s Efforts

Emir of Ilorin and Chairman Kwara State Council of Chiefs, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu Gambari, has commended the Chairman and members of the Ilorin Emirate Durbar Committee for their efforts in sustaining Durbar celebrations in the emirate.

He has also given approval for the 2022 grand durbar scheduled to hold on the second day of the Ileya festival.

Alhaji Sulu Gambari made these remarks on Monday at his palace when members of the committee led by its chairman, Engineer Suleiman Yahaya Alapansapa, who is also the Danmasani of Ilorin, paid him a courtesy call in his palace.

The Emir said he was impressed with the workings of the committee since its constitution and enjoined them not to rest on their oars, particularly in their main assignment of bringing the people of the emirate under one united umbrella.

The monarch reiterated his call for love and oneness among his subjects and used the occasion to praise a one time Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Shehu Gafar, for elevating most indigenes of the Ilorin Emirate while he was in service.

Responding on behalf of the durbar committee, its chairman, Engineer Yahaya Alapansapa, the Danmasani of Ilorin, thanked the emir for the confidence he reposed in the committee and assured him of sustenance of the set objectives of the festival.

Engineer Alapansapa, therefore appealed to all sons and daughters of the emirate and friends of the community to contribute meaningfully and attend the event.

Meanwhile, members of the committee have begun daily meetings for the success of the festival.
