INEC to Train 794 CSO Officials for Edo and Ondo Governorship Elections

Ahead of the upcoming governorship elections in Edo and Ondo States, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is set to train 794 officials from Civil Society Organisations (CSOs).

Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, the Chairman of the Commission, announced this during the opening of Tuesday’s meeting with the CSOs. He emphasized the importance of the training for the selected officials in ensuring the smooth conduct of the elections.

This initiative is part of INEC’s ongoing engagement with various stakeholders in preparation for the elections. Recently, similar meetings were held with leaders of political parties, and further engagements are scheduled with the media and security agencies.

Prof. Yakubu urged the CSOs to upload their applications and data on the INEC portal for accreditation, emphasizing the need for seamless coordination and collaboration in the electoral process.
