The Chairman, of the House of Representatives Committee on Youth Development, Hon Martins Esin has commended Nigerian youths for their steadfastness and resilience despite the challenges in the country.
In a statement over the weekend by the lawmaker, while commemorating the 2023 International Youth Day in Abuja, Hon Esin who is also a member representing the Oron/Mbo/Okobo/Udung Uko/Urueoffong Oruko Federal constituency appealed to President Bola Tinubu to do more for the youths as they constitute more than 60% of the population.
Meanwhile, the lawmaker also encouraged youths to remain resolute and cultivate virtues that would make them become good citizens and excellent leaders for tomorrow.
Speaking on the theme: “Green Skills For Youth: Towards a Sustainable World”, Esin said for the world to be sustainable, youths who represent the future must be imbued with green skills for their personal growth, survival and the sustenance of the world at large.
Hon Esin equally lauded the president Tinubu for appointing a significant number of youths into his cabinet stressing that with the appointment of youths as personal aides and their nomination for appointment as ministers, he was confident Nigeria will blossom under the administration.
According to the lawmaker “On this occasion of the International Youth Day 2023, I salute your resilience, doggedness and loyalty. Please, remain true and faithful because the nation is yours. Do everything to protect and safeguard her. We inherited a great nation from our forebears. We must bequeath a greater nation to the next generation.
“Luckily, the youth constitute more than 60% of the Nigerian constitution. This makes our nation youthful, productive and vibrant. With such a humongous number, any policy of the government which empowers the youth directly impacts the nation and protects her future. With youth constituting about 15% of the ministerial nominees undergoing screening at the Senate, President Tinubu has improved on records.” He explained
