Additionally, four Deputy Governors for the central bank have also been nominated, pending Senate confirmation: Mrs. Emem Usoro, Mr. Muhammad Dattijo, Mr. Philip Ikeazor, and Dr. Bala M. Bello.

Early Life and Education: Born and raised in Lagos, Cardoso attended Corona School Ikoyi and later, St. Gregory’s College for his primary and secondary schooling. He earned his Bachelor’s in Managerial and Administrative Studies from Aston University in 1980 and pursued a Master’s in Public Administration from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government in 2005 as a Mason Fellow.
Family Legacy: His father, Felix Bankole Cardoso, holds the distinction of being Nigeria’s first indigenous Accountant-General and later became the Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Barclays Bank of Nigeria, steering its transition to Union Bank of Nigeria.
