Kwara: 8-year-old donates to Covid-19 technical committee

An eight-year-old boy, Akinduyo Oluwapamilerinayo, has donated a sum of one thousand, one hundred and twenty naira to the Kwara State Technical Committee on Covid-19.

Making the donation on Thursday in Ilorin, the state capital, to the Chairman of the Technical Committee on COVID-19, Mr. Kayode Alabi, Master Oluwapamilerinayo said his desire to donate the cash, small as it was, was to assist in curbing the spread of coronavirus pandemic in the State.

Master Oluwapamilerinayo, who implored all good spirited individuals and corporate bodies to donate generously to the COVID-19 fund, disclosed that his father, a School teacher and Sunday School teacher, gave him some amount which he added to his personal savings and donated it to the Committee to fight the scourge, adding that his wish was to see the society free of the deadly pandemic.

Responding, Deputy Governor Kayode Alabi, who doubles as the Chairman, Technical Committee on Covid-19, commended the magnanimity and gesture of the youngest donor and urged other well meaning Kwarans to emulate the little lad’s kind spirit .

Mr. Alabi, who prayed for Master Oluwapamilerinayo for his kind gesture in assisting the Committee, said his message would be delivered to Governor AbdulRahaman AbdulRazaq.
