Kwara State Government has again warned that it will not tolerate truancy, late coming, negligence to duty and poor attitude to work by the state workers.
The State Head of Service, Mrs. Susan Modupe Oluwole, gave the warning on Tuesday while fielding questions from journalists when she led a team to the Old Secretariat to monitor the compliance of workers to directive on resumption time.
It would be recalled that the State Governor, Alhaji AbdulRahman AbdulRasq had on Monday locked scores of civil servants outside the main gate of the old secretariat in Ilorin, for late coming.
The governor told the civil servants that late coming to work is unhelpful for government business in the twenty first century.
While ensuring the compliance of workers to resumption time, the Head of Service however said today’s level of compliance unlike that of Monday was impressive.
The Head of Service who arrived the Old Secretariat alongside her team around twenty four minutes past seven, opened a register book for the workers to write their resumption time and closed it at eight o’clock in the morning.
Mrs. Oluwole disclosed that other teams were dispatched to Ministries of Health, Finance, Environment and Agriculture, saying that her office wants the workers to inculcate the habit of resuming to work at appropriate time without any monitoring.
Ministries housed in the old Secretariat include, Information and Communications, Women Affairs, Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Education and Human Capital Development, and Culture and Tourism.
