Mali Secures 2-0 Victory Over Nigeria in International Friendly

In Tuesday night’s international friendly, the Eagles of Mali emerged victorious with a 2-0 win against the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

Mali took the lead in the 18th minute with a goal from E. Toure, setting the pace for the match. Despite efforts from Nigeria, they were unable to equalize before halftime.

In the second half, K. Doumbia extended Mali’s lead with an 84th-minute strike from the center of the box, sealing their victory.

This defeat marked the first loss for interim coach George Finidi since taking over from Jose Peseiro, whose contract had expired. Finidi had previously led Nigeria to victory in his debut match against the Black Stars of Ghana in a friendly last Friday.

Despite Nigeria’s triumph, Ghana’s head coach, Otto Addo, attributed his team’s 2-1 loss to the Super Eagles to bad luck in the international friendly encounter.
