Lionel Messi, the acclaimed player for Inter Miami, couldn’t find the back of the net in his first Major League Soccer (MLS) match at home, resulting in a 0-0 tie against Nashville SC.

Despite this outcome, Inter Miami’s undefeated streak continued, reaching an impressive 10 games.

In an uncommon turn of events, Messi didn’t contribute a goal or assist during his time with Inter Miami in this match.

Nevertheless, he led the match in shot attempts with a total of seven, and came very close to securing victory in the final moments of the game. However, Nashville’s goalkeeper, Elliot Panicco, thwarted Messi’s attempt with his weaker right foot, leading to the goalless draw.

Since joining MLS in July and starting his tenure with Inter Miami, the Argentine star had participated in nine matches. Remarkably, all nine of these matches had resulted in victories – six during regular play and three through penalty shootouts, spanning various competitions including the Leagues Cup, U.S. Open Cup, and MLS fixtures.

However, on this particular Wednesday, Messi’s signature left-foot brilliance didn’t result in a game-changing moment, causing Inter Miami to drop points in their challenging pursuit of a spot in the MLS playoffs. This match marked the first time since Messi’s arrival that Inter Miami was unable to score a goal.
