National Association of University Students (NAUS) has lamented the deadly coronavirus pandemic ravaging the globe, praying that God would show mercy and intervene to heal the land.
In a statement, the Deputy National Secretary General of NAUS, Comrade Adewoyin Tijani Adekola, “sympathised with individuals, families, homes, businesses, corporate organisations, and nations around the world, especially our dear Nation, Nigeria, that are faced with this Coronavirus pandemic.”
He added: “NAUS, which is the highest decision making body of all students studying in Nigeria’s higher institutions of learning has been providing verified information to aid #StaySafe from the pandemic virus and we shall continue to support our students with adequate authentic information to help them in this difficult moment.
“Without any doubt, Coronavirus is volatile and deafly, but each and everyone of us must channel our attitude and energy towards the fight against the virus by following #SocialDistancing #StayAtHome #StaySafe guidelines as directed by the health authorities and the government to combat and eradicate Covid-19.
“We commend the federal government of Nigeria, state governments, individuals, and corporate organisations for their swift action in the fight against the virus. I also use this medium to call the attention of all Nigerian students to action, to use the compulsory holiday well by studying at home. This trying time shall pass and all activities shall go back to normal by God’s grace.
“We encourage everyone to also call upon God Almighty to come to our rescue while we keep to set rules and guidelines. God is the best Guidance, we seek for His divine intervention to help us eradicate the coronavirus pandemic and restore peace to the entire world.”
