NDE Explains Delay In Payment Of Trainers Allowances

 The National Directorate off Employment (NDE) has said that the delay in the payment of allowances to trainers was due to irregularities in the information on their accounts.

Alhaji Abubakar Fikpo, Director General of the NDE made the declaration on Thursday at the Orientation Ceremony for Youth Transformation, Training Scheme for Vocational and Technical Skills.

He said that the the organization was accountable to all funds allocated to it, adding that prudence and accountability was sacrosanct in the management of public funds.

Fikpo, who was represented by Mallam Ibrahim Musa  called on the trainers to furnish the agency with correct information of their company’s account details.

” The recent delay in the payment of our trainers is due to discrepancies in their accounts information’s.

“While some submitted different account details outside their incorporated company’s account details.

“This has become a challenge because the NDE has engaged only registered trainers.

“Although efforts are on the way to resolve the discrepancies and I want to assure you that you will be paid soon.

“You are our major partners in which without you, our Programme cannot be achievable.

“I wish therefore advise you to forward your correct information on your accounts as registered with the corporate affairs commission,’ he said.

The director general said that the scheme was designed to train you in vocation and technical skills.

Fikpo added that the aim was to produced trainers out of the trainees in very short future.

He said that the government had invested much funds for the scheme advising the trainees to take advantage of the opportunity.

Musa  also said that the duration of their training which spread between three to 18 months was enough for serious trainees to get the best. 

He vowed to ensure adequate monitoring of the training, also threatening to withdraw defaulters of the training.

Earlier, Alhaji Shehu Danjuma, Taraba State Coordinator of the NDE said that the schem was the longest in the duration of training spaning between three to 18 months.

Danjuma eulogised participants to demonstrate commitment adding that the most serious once upon the completion would be empowered by the NDE.

He also announced that there was a provision for their monthly transportation stipends.

In his remark,  Mr Innocent Dike, Head of Vocational Skills Department (VSK) earlier told the participants that the agency had developed mechanism to check trainees and trainers alike.

Dike advised the trainees to be diligent and careful in handling training equipment in their training centers.
