Niger state police command have arrested six criminals from different locations at Tafa and Lapai Divisions including IBB students engaged in various criminal activities.

According to the statement from the public relations officer of the command,ASP Wasiu Abiodun said on 06/08/2023 at about 2350hrs, Police operatives attached to Tafa Div while on routine patrol around Lolo Layout, Dakwa area responded to a distress call of an attempted robbery on the street in the area and arrested three gang of criminals.

The suspects took to their heels on sighting the Police team, and they were pursued and trailed to a tea seller kiosk around Nato garage, Deidei Abuja.

In the process three suspects were arrested, they are;
-Suleman Yahaya 21yrs
-Umar Suleman 25yrs
-Khalifa Abdulrahman 18yrs all of Deidei area of Abuja

The suspects during intorragation confessed to being members of a robbery syndicate terrorizing Dakwa, Deidei and its environs. They mentioned three others at large as Hassan, Lamar, and Bakano while a search was conducted in the kiosk and recovered the following items which includes,One double-barrel pump action gun,
One locally fabricated gun,
264 wraps of substances suspected to be Indian hemp
One cutlass, knife, and three scissors,
One white t-shirt and a vigilante shirt.

Also in another development on the 16/07/2023 three suspects were arrested for unlawful possession of fire arms and cultism based on credible information to police operatives attached to Lapai Division.

The suspects are Tanko Augustine Solomon 27yrs of Maikunkele
-Idris Hamza 25yrs of Maikunkele
-Idris Hayatullahi 25yrs of Lokoja, Kogi State,they were arrested in their various residences, off campus in Lapai for being suspected to be cult members.

During interrogation, the suspects claimed to be IBBU students, as Tanko confessed that they belong to the Neo-black movement (NBM) and his mission was to initiate more students from the school to fight for black racism movement.

Further investigation revealed that he has been leading fight to other campuses and that he severed his stepmother’s left hand recently over a mere argument at Maikunkele area of Minna.

Exhibits recovered from Tanko Solomon include;
-One locally-made pistol with five cartridges,Two axes,One red regalia with inscription of NBM,Two packets of white candles and eight pieces of red candles,One packet of razor blade,Two mosquito spray Two lighters, and Four colanuts.

All Suspects have been charged to court for prosecution, and effort is equally ongoing to arrest other members of the cult group.
