Ozigbo took to Twitter to share his sentiments, emphasizing the day as one of Nigeria’s bleakest. The resemblance of the tribunal’s decision to the APC’s final plea raised his eyebrows. He pondered aloud about the moment when the legal sector would favor justice over mere proceduralities.
He posted, “Yesterday’s decision feels like a low point in our nation’s journey. It seems the tribunal mirrored the APC’s closing arguments. When will our legal system elevate justice above mere formality? To be clear, Ng Labour put forth an impressive case, superior to APC’s legal efforts. The true loss isn’t Peter Obi or the LP’s; it’s Nigeria’s. Accepting this kind of judgment threatens to set a perilous norm and risks sidelining our judicial system. Justice feels compromised. The genuine loss is ours.”
Ozigbo commended the Labour Party and Peter Obi for their exemplary legal representation. He emphasized that the ramifications of this verdict span beyond the party and Peter Obi, affecting all of Nigeria. Accepting such decisions, he warns, not only sets a concerning trend but also threatens the judiciary’s credibility.
