NSCDC to Deploy Gun Truck to Kuje Correctional Centre for Enhanced Security

The FCT Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has announced plans to deploy a gun truck to the Kuje Medium Security Custodial Centre in order to bolster security around the facility.

This decision was disclosed by the Command’s spokesperson, Samuel Idoko, in a statement released on Wednesday in Abuja.

Commandant Olusola Odumosu, who heads the NSCDC in the territory, revealed this initiative during a meeting with the Comptroller of Corrections, FCT Command, Mr. John Francis. He emphasized that the gun truck would be utilized for surveillance patrols and securing the correctional facility.

Odumosu further mentioned that the command had recently acquired three gun trucks to enhance security measures within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Expressing appreciation for the visit, Odumosu highlighted the importance of fostering synergy between the NSCDC and correctional services to combat crime effectively in the territory.

He stressed the necessity of collaboration among security agencies to achieve the common goal of safeguarding lives, property, and critical national assets, emphasizing the significance of unity in achieving this objective.

Odumosu also shared that recent operational adjustments by the command had led to notable achievements, including the apprehension of vandals, bandits, illegal miners, oil thieves, fraudsters, and child traffickers.

In response, Mr. Francis, the FCT Comptroller of Corrections, commended Odumosu’s leadership and expressed readiness to enhance collaboration to ensure a safer FCT, free from crime and criminal activities.
