Kwara State Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq has lauded the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) for being a leading impetus in the battle to contain the spread of the ravaging deadly coronavirus pandemic in the country.

AbdulRazaq spoke through his Deputy, Mr. Kayode Alabi, who is also the chairman of the technical committee on COVID-19, while receiving Hand Sanitizers, Antiseptic Liquid Soaps and other materials produced by the NYSC in Kwara state to support the state in the war against the pandemic.

Governor Abdulrazaq said the efforts of the NYSC since the COVID-19 broke out have been a commendable and an inspiring catalyst in the fight against the global pandemic, having been a front liner in the fight against the scourge, promising to make judicious use of the items donated by the patriotic corps members.

The State Coordinator of NYSC in Kwara state, Mrs Francisca Olaleye, who led the team to present the items to the Kwara Covid-19 technical committee, said the Director General and the management of the NYSC scheme have been actively supporting and complementing the efforts of the government at all levels in the fight against the pandemic.

The State Coordinator assured the governor of the readiness of the NYSC in curtailing the spread of Coronavirus in Kwara State.

Also speaking, the leader of the team Oropo Enitan, pledged, on behalf of his colleagues, to always identify with the state government in the fight against Coronavirus.

It would be recalled that about two weeks ago, a group of Corps members produced a thousand bottles of hand sanitizers and liquid soaps at the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development centre domiciled in the NYSC State secretariat.
