The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has praised the late CEO of Access Holdings Plc, Herbert Wigwe, for his philanthropic endeavors and unwavering dedication to the gospel. Adeboye made these remarks during the Service of Songs held at the RCCG Resurrection Parish, Lekki, Lagos, for Herbert Wigwe, his wife Doreen, and their son Chizi, who tragically lost their lives in a helicopter crash alongside former Nigerian Exchange Group Chairman, Abimbola Ogunbanjo.

Adeboye’s condolence message highlighted Wigwe’s outstanding qualities as an accomplished professional, fine gentleman, and a devout Christian with a commitment to philanthropy, nation-building, children’s literacy, and the arts. The General Overseer expressed deep sympathy for the grieving family, acknowledging the significant void left by Wigwe’s passing.

In addition to Adeboye’s message, former Vice President of Nigeria, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, shared his personal experiences with Wigwe, emphasizing the deceased’s genuine friendship and concern for others. Osinbajo recalled the unique nature of Wigwe, who never sought favors during his eight years in office but instead focused on maintaining a supportive friendship.

The condolence service was attended by several dignitaries, including billionaire businessman Aliko Dangote, Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State, EFCC Chairman Ola Olukoyede, Pastor Tony Rapu, Pastor Ituah Ighodalo, Pastor Paul Adefarasin, and Dr. Dere Awosika, among others.

The events to honor Herbert Wigwe will continue with a Christian Wake-Keeping in Rivers State, followed by a Combined Funeral Service and a private interment ceremony. The final event will be the outing service at RCCG, Lion of Judah Parish, Isiokpo.
