Police Arraigns 26- Year- Old Over Murder Of Chief Matron, FMC Makurdi In Benue

Benue Police Command has arraigned a 26- year- old man Jamila Sule of Naka road before a Makurdi chief magistrate court for allegedly belonging to unlawful society and culpable homicide punishable with death.

Prosecuting police officer Inspector Godwin Ato had informed the court that son of the victim, Godwin Amali on January 22, reported to the police that the accused Jamila Sule alias Echo criminally trespassed into their house in Makurdi, adding that without provocation the accused stabbed his mother Mrs Esther Amali,former chief Matron of the federal medical center,FMC Makurdi,now late with her house maid Mercy Wuese with a knife.

He said both victims died when they were taken to the hospital in Makurdi.

Prosecution further told the court that during police investigation the accused was arrested and is currently undergoing trial.

Inspector Ato also informed the court that investigation was on going and asked for adjournment while plea of the accused was rejected by the court for want of jurisdiction.

Ruling, the chief magistrate Kelvin Mbanongon ordered that the accused be remanded at the federal correctional center Makurdi and adjourned the case to March 21 for further mention.
