Mr Tony Olofu, Commissioner of Police in Anambra, says he will adopt an all-inclusive policing approach to check herders/farmers crises.

Olofu said this when he met with members of Anambra Herders/Farmers Committee in furtherance of his stakeholders’ engagement in Awka on Wednesday.

DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, police spokesman in the state said in a statement that the police commissioner, also chairman of the committee, called for honest and patriotic involvement of all stakeholders.

He said the root causes of farmers/herders clashes must be identified and addressed through the development of sustainable solutions.

According to him, the police commissioner called for honest and patriotic involvement of all stakeholders aimed at identifying and prioritising identified differences.

Ikenga listed participants at the meeting to include retired Commissioner of Police, Ikechukwu Aduba, Chairman, Anambra Vigilance Group, Mohammadu Idris, and Commander of the NDLEA in Anambra.

Others were head of Immigration, the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, traditional rulers and Alhaji Gidado Sidikki, Chairman, Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association, Southeast Zone.
