Police Nab Man with 7 Human Heads

The Kwara state Police Command has arrested one Olayinka Abass Akeem with a bag containing seven human heads.

Briefing journalists in Ilorin, the state capital, on Thursday, the Commissioner of Police, Lawan Ado, disclosed that “after credible intelligence by the Command’s eagle-eyed operatives along Ajase-Ipo road on 21/11/2017 at about 0500hrs, one Olayinka Abass Akeem and one Tunde a. k. a Bante now at large was arrested with a bag and after a search of the bag, seven human heads were found therein.”

Upon interrogation, the CP said the suspect confessed to have exhumed the heads at Muslim cemetery, Igbo Owu in Ifelodun local government area of the state for ritual purposes, in company of his accomplice who is now at large, adding that effort is on top gear to arrest the other suspect that is on the run. He said the arrested suspect would be charged to court as soon as investigation is concluded.

Similarly, the police boss disclosed that five people, including a Nigerian Sergeant, were nabbed and are cooling their heels in police custody for criminal conspiracy and robbery. Recovered from them is one green Land Rover jeep Reg. No IWA-01.

He said: “On 21/11/2017 at about 0545hrs, a distress call was received to the effect that a premises belonging to one Prof. Cladrus Daramola at Tanke area, Ilorin was being attacked by armed robbers.

“On receipt of this report, the command operatives of F-SARS and Safer Highway teams were alerted and directed to block all the entry/exit routes to the city. Our efforts paid off when a green Landrover jeep with Reg. No IWA-01 was flagged down along Ajase Ipo road by a team of Sader Highway operatives. On interrogation, ut was discovered that the occupants in the vehicle were robbers that attacked the Professor’s house in Tanke area and drove away with the vehicle having threatened to shoot the security man in the house.”

Lawan Ado said the five suspects were discovered to have been an interstate armed robbery gang and they confessed to have come from Abuja to carry out the robbery operation, adding that they would soon be charged to court upon completion of interrogation.

Three other people, whose modus operandi was using a taxmxi xab to rob, were also arrested and paraded by the police. They are Idowu Jimoh, Mubarak Abdulhameed and Ambali Abdulganiyu. The taxi xav was recovered from them. Mubarak Avdulhameed, who was the driver of the cab, said that was their second operation. He said:”They normally use the taxi cab to trail any vehicle they want to snatch and that after a while they would overtake the vehicle, block it and snatch the vehicle after threatening to kill the owner if he fails to cooperate. ”
