PalmPay, a leading financial technology platform, has called for strategic collaborations within the financial sector to drive inclusivity. This call was made during the 2023 annual conference of the Finance Correspondents Association of Nigeria, which centered on the theme ‘Strengthening Digital Infrastructure for an Efficient Innovative Payment System in Nigeria’ and was held in Lagos.

Foluso Aduloju, the Head of Operations at PalmPay, underscored the importance of industry regulators and players joining forces to promote financial inclusion. He acknowledged the significant contributions of regulatory bodies like the Central Bank of Nigeria, Nigeria Inter-Bank Settlement System, and the Nigerian Communications Commission through policies and regulations, which have fostered growth in the financial sector.

“The introduction of fintech in the last five to six years has helped bridge the gap, achieving what banks had been striving for over the years. However, there is room for further progress through enhanced collaboration, building upon the foundation laid by banks,” Aduloju added.

“We firmly believe that collaboration is the cornerstone of sustainable growth and innovation in the financial sector. By working together, we can make a positive impact on the industry and, ultimately, improve the lives of the people we serve,” he further emphasized.

PalmPay encourages industry stakeholders to engage in open dialogue, share best practices, and collaborate on initiatives aligned with the shared goal of fostering a more inclusive and innovative financial ecosystem.
