A middle age man was killed yesterday by suspected armed robbers
The tragic incident took place at his resident 7B Egbede street, off New Lagos Road, in Ego Local government of Edo state.
The victim was simply identified as Mr Gideon from Ebonyi state.
An apple vendor, Gideon was was said to have met his untimely death after he was accosted by already awaiting armed bandits lurking around his residence when he wanted to ease himself at his backyard at about 10pm when he was shot after collecting his cell phones and money from him.
According to an eyes witness account, the apple seller had collected money from his customers which was to be used the following to purchase more goods from Lagos.
The robbers were said to have freely raided residents of the street for an hour carting away money and valuables before the intervention of men of Ohkoro police division arrived the scene
The remains of the victim has since been deposited at the Central Hospital morgue by men of Okhoro police division.
When contacted for comment, the police public relations officer, Moses Nkombe said he was yet to be briefed about the incident.
