Saraki Donates N15 Million To Traders, Drivers, Spare Parts Dealers Unions

The Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki, has donated the sum of N15 million to three different traders associations in Ilorin, the Kwara state capital.

The beneficiaries of Saraki’s largesse are the Market Men and Women Associations, Kwara state Taxi Drivers Association and Association of Motor Spare Parts Dealers, Ipata Oloje, Ilorin.

The donation was to assist the associations – the taxi drivers union and market men and women associations in the building of their respective secretariats while the donation to the motor spare parts dealers association was to assist in boosting its members’ businesses .

The Director General, ABS Constituency Office, Ilorin, Alhaji Musa Abdullahi presented cheques of N5 million each to the representatives of the three associations in his office on behalf of the Senate President.

Abdullahi, who said Saraki’s gesture was in recognition of the associations’ contributions to the socio- economic development of the state, enjoined them not to waiver in their support for the Saraki political dynasty, while also admonishing them to use the monies for the purposes intended.

Responding, the market women leader, Alhaja Adenike AbdulKareem Lambe thanked Saraki for his kind gesture.

She assured the Senate President of the total support of all market men and women in the state. She was corroborated by his male counterpart, Alhaji Tunde Jimoh.

In their responses, Alhaji Issa Salami, chairman of the taxi drivers association and Alhaji Baba Alapa, chairman of the motor spare parts dealers, pledged to mobilise their teeming members and their families to vote en masse for the candidates of the PDP during next year’s general elections in the state.

They described Saraki’s act of generosity as legendary, promising to reciprocate the Senate President’s kindness towards them at the appropriate time
