Senator Ali Ndume, representing Borno South, expressed criticism on Tuesday regarding the proposed relocation of some offices of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and the headquarters of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) from Abuja to Lagos. He attributed the decision to being ill-advised by what he referred to as “Lagos boys.” The senator emphasized that the consensus is against the relocation, highlighting that Abuja is recognized as the country’s capital. Ndume argued that those advocating for the move are misinforming and advising the President incorrectly, asserting that regulatory bodies for financial institutions should be based in Abuja.
