Sokoto state EXCO approves water and road projects totaling about N80 billion

Sokoto State Executive Council has approved the the rehabilitation of a two million gallons capacity water tank at the Old Market Area of Sokoto metropolis at a cost of N78.1 million, in addition to drilling  twelve solar boreholes in schools across the state. 

Briefing newsmen on the outcome of the last EXCO meeting, the Commissioner of Lands and Housing, Muhammad Bello Abubakar, and his counterpart for  Basic and Secondary Education, Dr. Muhammad Jabbi Kilgori, said that the government was  committed to the provision of social amenities throughout the state.

According to the commissioners, as evidence of the importance accorded to roads in the movement of people and goods, the meeting also approved the construction of eight roads within and outside the state capital at a total cost N78.1 billion.

They said that the council further approved the rehabilitation and expansion of two government day secondary schools at a combined cost of N309

million.

They charged the contractors to complete the projects on schedule.
