Speaker Dogara Preaches Unity in Diversity as He Hosts Members To Iftar

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Yakubu Dogara, yesterday enjoined Nigerians to uphold and sustain the spirit of unity in diversity for the nation to attain the desired greatness.
 
Dogara stated this while making remarks at an Iftar (breaking of fast) and Special prayer with Members of the House from South/South and North/ East zones.
He noted that Nigeria can attain greatness, if the citizens come together and support one another regardless of their different beliefs.
“Today’s event underlines the spirit of unity in diversity that we ought to be exhibiting in our national life. I believe that Nigeria can borrow from this spirit where people from diverse faiths join together to support one another. With this spirit, we will definitely be a great country and I know that it is a destination that we’ll attain very soon by the grace of God”.
The Speaker reiterated his call for continued prayers for the health of Mr. President and for the entire leadership of the country at all levels for God’s guidance.
“As part of this event, I enjoin us to pray and commit the leadership of this country from National down to the local government levels so that God will grant them wisdom and good health to discharge their duties and continue to lead us aright “.
According to a statement by the Special Adviser to the Speaker on Media and Public Affairs, Turaki Hassan, the Special Prayer session was led by Hon. Ustaz Ahmed Yunus at the instance of the Speaker after the obligatory three Raka’ats Magrib Prayers.
The statement added that the Iftar Dinner and special prayer session will continue today, Thursday with members from the North/ West and South/ East zones.
