Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia has expressed excitement over the Supreme Court’s dismissal of the appeal filed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate, Titus Uba, challenging his victory in the governorship election. Governor Alia stated that the Supreme Court victory would motivate his administration to do more for the development of Benue State.
After the judgment, Governor Alia addressed journalists in Abuja and emphasized that the victory is for all the people of the state. He expressed his excitement and stated that the verdict would inspire him to give his best to the state. Governor Alia called for unity among the people of Benue State, regardless of their political affiliations, urging everyone to contribute to the state’s progress and development.
The Supreme Court’s decision upheld the results of the governorship election, affirming Governor Alia’s victory. The governor had previously been affirmed by the governorship election petition tribunal and the court of appeal in Abuja. The dismissal of the appeal by the Supreme Court marks the final legal resolution of the election dispute.
