The spokesperson of Yobe State Police Command, DSP Dungus Abdulkarim, has confirmed the killing of three members of Shi’a during attack by suspected members of Boko Haram in Gaidam local government of yobe state.
The suspected members of Boko Haram insurgents have launched an attack on Faudiya School, in Geidam town, Gaidam Local Government Area of Yobe State.
Mallam Mahadi Ibrahim, a members of the Islamic movement said during the attack the insurgents stormed the town and attack institution, belongings to the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), a prominent Shia sect in the country, was tragically transformed into a scene of unspeakable carnage.
Mahadi, confirmed the attackers who struck while the students were in sleep, rendering them defenceless against the sudden and deadly onslaught.
He added that the incident occurred at around 3:44 am when the gunmen invaded Faudiya School a well-known Shiite school in Geidam,
“three our members of Shia sect were killed while one sustained serious injury during the attacks”
According to him the suspected insurgents attacked the school when these youths were asleep and brought them outside and shot them dead.
“We don’t know who they (gunmen) are but all we know is that they killed three students in the school. One person who tried to escape during the incident was injured and he has been hospitalised,” he said.
Our correspondent learnt that here is tension and concern in the town after this incident. People are terrified over this unfortunate incident,” he said.
