Suspected motorcycle thief in NSCDC net in Kwara

A middle aged man, Saliu Raofeek, declared wanted by the Kwara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, (NSCDC) over alleged motorcycle theft, has been nabbed at a supermarket in llorin, the state capital.

NSCDC spokesman in Kwara State Babawale Zaid Afolabi confirmed the arrest in a statement made available to newsmen in Ilorin on Wednesday.

The statement reads: “It will be recalled that the middle aged man was accused of stealing a motorbike sometimes in May 2021, but he evaded arrest and disappeared into thin air with the stolen bike.

“All efforts to apprehend him since then has proved abortive until he was picked up at a supermarket along Taiwo road in llorin.

“Around 1113 hours on Tuesday, two operatives of the NSCDC from Akerebiata Division, who were on a surveillance around Taiwo road in ilorin sighted a suspect who has been on a wanted list for a while.

“The suspect was accused of stealing of motorcycle and has since been on the run.

“The suspected thief has since been taken to the Kwara State Command of the NSCDC, while he will be charged to court after the completion of further investigations.”
