The Honorable member representing Oyo South Senatorial District in Southern Youth Assembly of Nigeria (SYAN), Hon. Adewoyin Tijani, has commended Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, for reducing the school fees of students of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, by 25 percent.
Hon. Tijani described the Governor’s action as “true dividends of democracy” to the students, which the Governor tagged as fulfilling the promise of securing the sole ownership of LAUTECH for Oyo State.
The commendation was contained in a statement made available to newsmen in Ilorin, the Kwara state capital.
He said: “The most interesting part of it is that the 25% School fee reduction is for both indigene and non indigene students of the institution. I therefore urge other state governors to please emulate the fatherly action of Governor Seyi Makinde by slashing school fees in their respective States.
“I further implore Gov. Makinde to please extend his kind gesture to other five public higher institutions of learning in the state, for them to also enjoy the dividends of democracy.
