Terrorists Renew Offensives in Borno

By: Our Reporter
In what appears like a renewed offensive, Islamic State West Africa Province, ISWAP and Boko Haram elements have reportedly attacked a Military location in Borno, even as they engaged soldiers in a gun duel along the Maiduguri Damboa Road.
Our correspondent quoted a Military analyst, Zagazola Makama, as reporting that, while ISWAP attacked and abducted a Policeman, three members of the Civilian Joint Task Force, CJTF and three local hunters deployed to Gubio, Boko Haram terrorists ambushed a convoy of Civilians passengers being escorted from Maiduguri to Damboa: both in Borno state.
In the ambush and abduction by ISWAP terrorists, reports of the exact number of casualties could not be assertained as at Press time, even as unconfirmed security men might have been killed in the attack on Maiduguri-Damboa road by Boko Haram terrorists.
There is no official confirmation of the two incidents, but media reports indicate that, the road leading to Damboa from Maiduguri has been closed down to traffic and reinforcements have been sent to Gubio, to track down and rescue the abducted security personnel.
The attacks took place when the state Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum was away to the United States of America in company of President Muhammadu Buhari to witness the UNGA meeting.
Zulum had mandated his Deputy, Umar Usman Kadafur to tour areas affected by flooding and other natural disasters, as efforts are being intensified to resettle displaced citizens back to their ancestral abodes.
Findings indicate that all Security formations in and around Borno have been on the red alert following reports of the two incidents.
