At approximately 11:00am, Boko Haram elements infiltrated Pulka through the Frigi route, advancing along the tiled road toward the Forward Operating Base (FOB) of the Nigerian military.

Upon arrival, the insurgents engaged military personnel in a gun battle. Simultaneously, another confrontation occurred at the rear of the town near the camp area. The attackers appeared to have a coordinated plan targeting both military and civilian infrastructure.

The insurgents carried out extensive arson and vandalism, including:

Military and Security Facilities

Two staff quarters burned.

The Commanding Officer’s residence burned.

Military equipment destroyed, including:

Artillery fire machine.

Emrand and Emora equipment (completely burnt).

Two company vehicles burned (parked at the gate).

One tanker and one yellow bucket vehicle destroyed.

Educational and Religious Infrastructure

One block of four classrooms burned.

Another block of three classrooms burned.

A church facility affected.

Healthcare Infrastructure

The insurgents crossed into the clinic recently renovated by Your Excellency, located directly opposite the military FOB:

Two ambulances burned.

The clinic vandalized.

Drug store looted and destroyed.

Medical equipment and valuables carted away.

Agricultural Assets

One tractor burned.

The scale of destruction indicates a deliberate attempt to cripple both security operations and essential public services.

No lives were lost.

Two to three individuals sustained minor injuries.

The Nigerian military engaged the insurgents immediately upon contact. However, due to the scale and coordination of the attack, the military carried out a tactical withdrawal to reposition and restrategize.

These local security actors stood firm at the entrance of the town near the filling station and successfully prevented the insurgents from advancing deeper into Pulka before reinforcements arrived.

Reinforcements came from Warabe, Wala, and Gwoza.

During reinforcement movement:

Two Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) were planted between Wala and Warabe.

The military successfully neutralized the threat and repelled the insurgents.

The resilience of the CJTF, Hunters, Vigilantes, and Hybrid Forces played a decisive role in preventing further destruction within Pulka.

Preliminary intelligence suggests:

The insurgents may have trailed returning farmers into town.

There are suspected collaborators and spies residing within IDP camps.

Boko Haram elements are believed to have infiltrated civilian areas prior to launching the attack.

Additionally, two weeks earlier, insurgents attacked and destroyed property in bush areas around Saver, Langara, Gobara, and surrounding axes. The military engaged them successfully at that time.

Currently:
Special Forces and Police are on high alert.

Other security agencies remain vigilant.

Wala and Warabe communities have no permanent military presence and have been placed on alert

The most pressing challenge reported by security actors is the lack of adequate operational tools and long-range engagement capacity.

Local security forces have requested:

Release of heavy-duty weapons capable of covering distances of 2,000 meters or more.

Supply of approximately 100 rifles to strengthen defensive capacity.

Immediate provision of operational equipment to boost morale and effectiveness.

In light of the above, the following urgent measures are respectfully recommended:
Immediate Reinforcement of Pulka FOB

Deployment of additional troops.

Replacement of destroyed operational assets.

Strengthening of perimeter defenses.

2. Provision of Operational Equipment to Local Security Forces

Controlled and supervised provision of additional rifles (as requested, approximately 100 units) under strict accountability structures.

Supply of adequate cartridges (ammunition) to enhance defensive readiness.

Deployment of long-range engagement tools capable of covering extended operational distances (up to 2,000 meters or more), subject to federal security approval and command structure.
Establishment of Security Presence in Wala and Warabe

Temporary or permanent forward detachments to block insurgent access routes.
Enhanced Intelligence and Internal Screening

Immediate profiling and re-verification within camps.

Strengthened human intelligence networks to detect collaborators.

IED Countermeasure Reinforcement

Increased patrols and deployment of specialized detection teams along vulnerable road corridors.

Rapid Rehabilitation of Destroyed Infrastructure

Reconstruction of:

The renovated clinic.

Burned classrooms.

Military staff quarters.
