War Against Corruption: Apostolic Church calls for sincerity, commitment

The New Apostolic Church Centre for Development (NCD) has called on well meaning Nigerians to join the ongoing crusade against corruption in the country.

The group made the call during a rally against corruption; to the Nigeria Union of Journists (NUJ), Edo State Counci!;l in Benin City, yesterday.

Speaking on behalf of the NCD, Felix Ekhator decried the level of corruption, just as he alleged the relooting of the recovered assets of the country.

He noted that the recovered assets ought to have been used for the overall development of the nation, stressing that so far, it appears the funds have not been properly utilised.

Armed with various placards, such as ‘Return All Looted Assets’, ‘All Looters Must be brought to Justice’, ‘Say No to Corruption’, among others, the group emphasised the need for all to join the fight against corruption, which it noted has eaten deep into the society.

Responding, the Chairman of Nigeria Union of Journalists, Edo State Council, Sir Roland Osakue appreciated the body for its effort aimed at curbing corruption in the country.

Osakue who expressed concern over what corruption has done to the nation, pointed out that the ugly situation must not be allowed to continue.

He appealed to the youths who are the leaders of tomorrow to rise up, with a view to ensuring that the menance (Corruption) is stamped-out of the country
