A newlywed woman, Habiba Ibrahim, has reportedly been arrested by the police for allegedly cutting her husband, Salisu Idris’s manhood while he was asleep. The incident occurred on May 26 in Kudan, Kaduna State, shortly after Idris returned from early morning prayers.

Idris, a 40-year-old commercial motorcycle rider, was attacked while lying in bed. His wife reportedly jumped on him with a sharp knife, almost severing his manhood. Neighbors were alerted by his screams and came to his rescue.

Idris, who has been married to Habiba for about four months, expressed shock over the incident, stating that there were no prior misunderstandings and they were in a loving relationship.

Following the attack, Idris was initially taken to a local hospital in Kudan and then referred to the General Hospital Makarfi. He was eventually transferred to Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital in Zaria, where doctors worked to save his life.

Idris expressed his fear of remarrying due to the traumatic experience. His mother, Rabi Salisu, who is caring for him at the hospital, mentioned that despite not living in the same compound, Idris had never complained about his wife. She added that Habiba’s parents are concerned and willing to cover his medical expenses.

Attempts to obtain comments from the doctors treating Idris were unsuccessful, and the Kaduna State Police have yet to release a statement on the incident.
