Father Sells Six Biological Children in Sokoto

The Sokoto State Police Command has arrested ten members of a human trafficking and child abduction syndicate, including Bala Abubakar, who sold 28 children, six of whom were his biological children. Commissioner of Police Ali Kaigama disclosed this during a press conference.

CP Kaigama revealed that the rescued children have been handed over to the state orphanage home for proper care. The suspects reportedly sold the children to Kulu Dongoyaro and Elizabeth Ojah for amounts ranging between ₦150,000 and ₦250,000, under the pretense that they were being taken to an Abuja-based NGO that would provide for their welfare.

In a separate incident, Kaigama reported the arrest of Saifullah Hassan from Gunmi Local Government Area of Zamfara State, who is accused of murdering Balikisu Garba at Ifeoma Hotel. The incident occurred on May 24, 2024, and was reported by the hotel manager, Mr. John. Police operatives recovered a bag containing payment receipts and SIM cards, which led to Hassan’s identification and subsequent arrest in Funtua, Katsina State.

CP Kaigama assured residents that the command remains committed to upholding law and order and commended Governor Ahmed Aliyu for his support during the investigations. He urged the public to continue cooperating with the police to create a safer environment.
