IBRAHIM IDRIS GARBA : like A Candle In The Wind

By: Inuwa Bwala

He came on the stage like a burst: blossoming with intelligence, ideas, and energy. His boss, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, was perhaps the happier of all, but, indeed, everybody was happy: except those who had other ideas.
To us from his immediate constituency, especially the elderly ones, he was our pride especially, that from amongst us, a promising young talent has been identified, with the capacity to take up the gauntlet, where we may drop it.
No one can dispute the fact that Engineer Ibrahim Idris was a gentleman per excellence, a refined professional, a passionate and dedicated public officer, and a very intelligent and promising youngman. But like a candle in the wind, he was blown off prematurely in very curious circumstances.
So many theories have been advanced as the likely cause of Engineer Ibrahim’s death, but whichever direction one looks at it, the more likely theory points to murder.
The probing question is what could be his/her or their motives. What wrong could somebody who is seen as a friend to all have committed to warrant death.
While the police explore all possible clues, and people and the government wait for results, one fact remains that the answer to everything lies in the bossom of the almighty and time.
On the part of others, those who perpetrated this act should wait for their own date with the same fate: and that will be very soon. As the act in itself can not delay their own days of judgement.
