Fresh Attack: Boko Haram Burnt District Head Palace’s, Killed 37 In Yobe.

Suspected Boko Haram insurgents on Tuesday evening burnt down the district Head of Futchimiram Palace of Nguro Kayaiya village in Gaidam Local Government Area of Yobe State.

At least 37 people were feared killed and many others injure, district Head said in a interview with newsmen some account put the death toll higher

Eyewitness who told our correspondent that, the insurgents headed straight for the district Head’s palace but the district Head and his family have left the palace before the terrorists stormed the palace.

Apart from setting the palace on fire, the suspected Militants also went away with some foodstuffs and others valuable items belonging to the district Head.

One of the resident of the community who does not want his name mentioned said that, the Boko Haram members were on a mission to eliminate the District Head in a revenge mission for his contribution giving to the Emir’s palace and security agencies that led to the elimination of some Boko Haram members in the town.

District Head of Futchimiram of Gaidam Zanna Mohammed Nur, confirmed the attack on his palace told newsmen that ” I want to tell you that, when I got the information about the attack I wrote a letter to the security operative”
In the letter sighted by our Correspondent, the District head stated

” CO 159 Battalion Gaidam and other security agencies, This is to inform you that, today 25/10/2023 in the evening at about 7pm, I received a report from my village Futchimiram, Boko Haram went to my palace and burnt down whole the compound to ashes.

Zanna called on the federal and state government to get more security personnel into Gaidam Local Government Area inorder to protect the lives and property of the people from any further attack.

A day after District Head attack, at least 20 people have been killed when a motorcycle was struck by an Improvised explosive Device (IFD) planted by suspected Boko Haram.

A resident of the town Musa Goni, who confirmed the incident said that the bomb went off at about 5:30 pm in Goni-Mittiri village under Gumsa town in Gaidam Local Government of the state.

As at the time of filing this report mourners in the village, located some 25 kilometers away from Gaidam town, had gone to bury 17 victims of insurgents attack, which occurred on Monday morning and while hundreds of people returning from the burial were struck with two an explosion.

“We had hardly finished evening prayers when the gunmen came to our village and indiscriminately opened fire and set fire to homes, resident Modu Ba’ba”

They detonated one bombs, which added to our fright and confusion, everybody fled into the bush from where we saw our home burning .

A hospital source confirmed to Newsmen that in the last two day, at least 37 people have been while two others were injured

Another source confirmed that, in a separate attack which brought the total numbers of corps 37, A couple-husband and his wife are receiving treatment in the Gaidam specialist hospital for the injuries sustained from the blast.
