Abimbola Craig, known for her role in Skinny Girl in Transit, recently opened up about her harrowing experience following brain surgery in 2014. In a candid YouTube video, she recounted the painful procedures and emotional turmoil she endured, admitting that she feared for her life.
After discovering a brain tumor, Craig underwent surgery, but her recovery was far from smooth. She experienced severe side effects from pain medication, including insomnia, hallucinations, and depression, leading to a drastic weight loss of 10kg.
One particularly excruciating procedure she endured was the lumbar puncture, akin to a spinal tap, to investigate further complications. Despite the ordeal, tests revealed she had contracted malaria during a visit to Nigeria, not meningitis as initially feared.
Reflecting on the ordeal a decade later, Craig expressed gratitude for her survival and newfound health. She emphasized the profound fear she experienced during the post-surgery complications, stating, “I thought I was going to die.”
