Tinubu Signs Bill Increasing Judicial Officers’ Salaries and Benefits by 300%

President Bola Tinubu has enacted a law that significantly increases the salaries, allowances, and benefits of Nigerian judicial officers by 300%. This move, announced by the Special Adviser to the President on Senate Matters, Basheer Lado, reflects Tinubu’s commitment to improving the welfare of the judiciary and other citizens.

With this new legislation, the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) will now receive an annual salary of N64 million. The President of the Court of Appeal will earn N62.4 million annually, while Supreme Court justices will receive N61.4 million each year.

Lado emphasized that President Tinubu’s decision demonstrates his dedication to prioritizing the well-being of Nigerian workers, citing his recent approval of the National Minimum Wage Bill, which raised the minimum wage to N70,000.
