According to reports from The Nation, a joint security operation conducted at the hideout of the Iceland cult leader and his gang in Idu-Ekpeye, Rivers State, resulted in the alleged death of a cult leader known as “2Baba” on Saturday, February 17, 2024.

The news of 2Baba’s reported demise sparked celebrations in the Ahoada area of Rivers State over the weekend.

A senior police officer, speaking anonymously, revealed that 2Baba sustained multiple gunshot wounds during the security raid.

While there has been no official confirmation of 2Baba’s death from authorities, communities in Ahoada were reportedly jubilant upon hearing the news of the cult leader’s alleged demise.

This development follows a previous incident in September 2023, where a divisional police officer, Bako Angbashim, was reportedly ambushed and captured by a cult group purportedly led by 2Baba in the Odiemudie community, Ahoada East LGA. The DPO was subsequently taken into the forest, where he was allegedly killed and dismembered by 2Baba and his gang.

As of the time of reporting, police authorities had not officially confirmed the reported death of 2Baba.
