Ambassador *of* Nigeria to China Baba Ahmad Jidda OFR, on Thursday celebrated the country’s 62 Independence Anniversary at an elaborate ceremony in China.
A press statement from the Nigerian embassy in China quoted Ambassador Jidda as saying Nigeria and China have many things in common and have a long standing beneficial relationship.
The occasion which held in Guangzhou, Guangdong province of the People’s Republic of China, had the Consular General of the province, Ahmed Shettima as special guest.
The statement quoted Ambassador Jidda as congratulating Nigeria on the great occasion and applauded the government’s achievement 62 years after independence.
He reiterated the meaningful existing bilateral ties between Nigeria and China which he said recorded success in areas of economic, human development, and capacity building.
While celebrating Nigeria, he also congratulated China on its National Day celebration which coincides with Nigeria’s 1st October, and as well sends Nigeria’s good wishes to China for the forthcoming CPC congress scheduled to hold in October, 2022. Ambassador Jidda stressed the need for more commitment and cooperation between the two countries in diversified areas of economic development to achieve a win-win cooperation.
