Mr. Rauf Age-Suleiman, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Amuwo-Odofin Constituency 2 at the Lagos State House of Assembly, has officially replaced the Labour Party candidate, Olukayode Doherty. The replacement occurred following the Appeal Court’s decision to overturn Doherty’s candidacy.

On Wednesday, Age-Suleiman took the oath before Speaker Mudashiru Obasa and other lawmakers, just before the presentation of the 2024 budget by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

With this swearing-in, Age-Suleiman now occupies the position previously held by Olukayode Doherty of the Labour Party, who was recently removed by the Court of Appeal. Speaker Obasa welcomed Age-Suleiman and urged him to collaborate with his colleagues while keeping the interests of his constituents in mind.

Speaker Obasa also extended congratulations to the governor, the APC, and the people of Amuwo-Odofin, noting that the oath of office has increased the APC’s representation in the House to 39 members, as opposed to one member from the Labour Party.
