Apology and Retraction Demanded from Orlando by Bauchi APC for Allegations Against Party Leadership

The Bauchi State Chapter of the All Progressive Congress (APC) has issued a stern call for Abdullahi Tanko Orlando, the spokesman of the Bauchi-based APC group, the New Dawn Organization, to apologize and retract allegations made against the APC leadership and the federal government. Orlando had accused the party leadership and the government of political blunders and neglect toward the Bauchi State APC and its members.

In a press conference held at the APC secretariat in Bauchi on Monday, Saadu Umar, the State APC Chairman of the Publicity Committee, emphasized the need to set the record straight and correct misinformation spread by the Bauchi State New Dawn Organization. Umar clarified that Orlando, the presenter of the press release, had a history with the APC, having been a gubernatorial aspirant in 2015. Following his unsuccessful bid, Orlando had taken legal action against the APC and gubernatorial candidate M.A Abubakar before defecting to the opposition party. He later returned to the APC after a falling out with the governor.

Umar strongly refuted the baseless accusations leveled against President Bola Ahmad Tinubu, Vice-president Kashimn Shattima, and the APC leadership, asserting that they have consistently supported the Bauchi APC. He highlighted the significant appointments of APC members to key positions by President Tinubu, including Mallam Ya’u Darazo as Special Adviser on Political Matters and Intergovernmental Relations, Professor Ali Pate as Minister of Health and Social Welfare, and Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar as Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The Bauchi APC expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for recognizing their contributions and rewarding the state with these appointments. Umar concluded by reaffirming the party’s unwavering support for the APC leadership and dismissing the unfounded allegations as baseless and misguided.
