AUN SBE To Host Boot Camp For High Senior School In 2017

The School of Entrepreneurship of the American University of Nigeria, AUN is set to launch a weeklong youth entrepreneurship boot camp in conjunction with secondary schools in Yola/Jimeta area.
The boot camp which kicks off in January 2017 is open to high students in SS1-3. The selected students will gain business training and exposure to university experience at AUN.
The hands-on curriculum is designed to challenge the students through both theory and practical training in financial literacy, business fundamentals, leadership and communication in running a successful business venture. With intense preparation undeder way, the Dean of School, Ahmad Hosseini stressed that the SBE is dedicated to building the next generation of business leaders.
“Introducing youths to entrepreneurship and creating a ‘can-do’ culture from an early age not only helps with self-esteem and personal development, but also enables students to better understand the impact of their decision at the secondary school level”, he said.
He explained that the programme will feature sessions with community business executives as mentors to the students and customized AUN Boot Camp T-shirts to worn on the first four days adding that on the fifth day, the students will dress up in corporate outfits to pitch their ideas.
Speaking further, the Dean stated that the AUN is providing the boot camp training free to all qualified students with breakfast and lunch.
