Bola Ahmed Tinubu Solidarity Vanguard (BATSV) has condoled with its Principal and Mentor, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the demise of his Chief Security Officer, late Alhaji Lateef Raheem, whose untimely exit occurred early today.

The Vanguard noted that “Lati” as the deceased was fondly called by Tinubu was a consummate person with good spirit, generally accommodative and a friend of all.

The National Chairman of BATSV, Dr. Dare Owotomobi, in a statement by the Vanguard’s Director of Media and Publicity, Dr. Babatunde Salami, said the deceased would be missed not only by Jagaban, who loved and trusted him while he was alive for his unalloyed loyalty, but also by all who crossed the path of the deceased when he was alive.

Dr. Owotomobi recalled that amid confrontation between Obasanjo led Federal Government and Asiwaju as the then Lagos State Governor, the late Security Officer was arrested and tortured by the Department of State Security to garner information from him in order to implicate his boss, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu but he refused to budge, adding that the Late Lati’s place of abode was thoroughly ransacked by the DSS but nothing incriminating was found after which he was released.

He said: “The torture the deceased received then from the DSS made him to develop some health challenges that he nursed till his eventual demise.

“The Jagaban political family definitely misses his departure around the principal and prays Allah to grant him forgiveness and give him a space in AL – Janat Fridaous.

“We also pray that Almighty Allah grant the family, friends, colleagues and more importantly our principal, Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.”
