The sum of N20 million for land compensation for the construction of Faculty of Agriculture at the Jama’are campus of the Bauchi State University, Gadau has been disbursed by the state government.

A statement by the Head of Information and Public Relations of the University, Alhaji Isa Suleiman, said the chairman of the committee on Land Acquisition and payment of compensation of the university, Alhaji Mahmud Garba Friday conducted payment to the beneficiaries at Jama’are local government secretariat.

Mahmud who is the acting Registrar of the university has commended the land owners, Jama’are Emirate Council as well as Jama’are local government council for their patience and support to the university which immensely contributed towards the take-off of the faculty, the statement said.

The statement explained that while at the palace of the Emir of Jama’are, the committee chairman thanked the emir on behalf of the management of the University for his Fatherly Support to the institution.

Responding, the Emir, Alhaji Ahmad Muhammad Wabi 111, expressed appreciation to the state government for redeeming its pledge, and assured the University of the Continued Support of the people of Jama’are emirate at all times.
