Bayesa Guber election: “Timipre is greedy”….APC Chieftain

Dr. Garus Gololo, a Chieftain of the All Progressive C ongress ( APC), Coordinator of the Tinubu/ Shetima presidential campaign, in the North -East has described the decision of the Minister of state for Petroleum, Mr. Timipre Sylvia, as the “height of greed and betrayal.”

Mr. Timipre Sylvia, the minister of State for petroleum, over the weekend resigned his appointment as the minister of State for petroleum, to contest the governorship election in Bayesa state.
In a statement made available to Newsmen in Abuja over the weekend, Gololo, the fiery political activist and a chieftain of the ruling All Progressive Congress ( APC), said ” This is the time the party should rally round David Lyon, who lost to the opposition in the state at the Tribunal. What did Sylvia want, after serving as minister of State for petroleum?”

” We are surprised in APC that Timpre , could resign to contest a Governorship primary against Lyon, who is well loved by his people. It is a sign of greed and inconsistence for a man to turn against the candidate he support but lost at the Tribunal, because of the carelessness of his deputy”
” As a governor of Bayesa state and minister of State for petroleum for almost eight years what did he do in the state for his people that he thinks the people would want him back?”
” He did nothing and achieved nothing, let him come out and tell the world what he did for the benefit of the ordinary man in Bayesa ”
The All Progressive Congress ( APC), s
Chieftain, therefore called on the party to check what he described as the excess of some members like Timpre , which according to him cost the party victory in the February and March elections .

Recall that the Supreme Court in February 2020, had sacked David Lyon, as the governor – elect of Bayesa state, barely 24 hours after his inauguration.
A five member panel of justice led by justice Mary Odili, nullified the election on the ground that his deputy Biobarakuma Degi Eremienyo presented false information to the Independent National Electoral Commission ( INEC).
