***BOSIEC To Conduct Fresh Elections 2023

Borno State Governor Professor Babagana Umara Zulum has ordered Local Government Council Chairmen in the state to handover the affairs of the councils to Local Government Secretaries.
Commissioner for Local Government and Emirate Affairs, Sugum Mai Mele announced the decision in a press release on Thursday.
According to the Commissioner, the order follows the expiration of the two years tenure of the council Chairmen.
This is even as the Borno State Independent Electoral Commission, BOSIEC has submitted a proposal to the state House of Assembly for the conduct of the Local Government elections in 2023.
A letter sent to the assembly signed by Zanna Garga, clarified that, the elections are billed to hold in 2023, baring any untoward development.
The letter which seeks for the approval of the assembly also outlined the needs of the electoral body for the conduct of the elections.
